Guess what?

As I mentioned in my 2nd article, I had dreams for summer that weren’t crossing over into reality. Instead of full-time work, I have two full days on Mondays and Tuesdays with 3 empty days I hoped to fill with temp work. I'd only had 1 day of temp work in May and my confidence in Apple One began to fade.

I try not to watch too much TV in my off-time, (which would be extremely easy) and I’ve been frequenting the library looking into my grad school options. I think I definitely want to go for law school (like everyone else). I spoke with the law school advisor. I now know that I can’t apply until fall of 2005… starting classes in fall of 2006. My goodness! That means I won’t graduate until 2009! I’ll be in debt until 2020!!! :::Classy Chiq faints::: :::Coming to::: Woah, what happened? Actually, a Fall 2005 application gives me time to raise my GPA to a competitive level (I’m now at a pitiful 3.558) and I have that extra year to study for the LSAT, and drum up some great recommendation letters. I’ll also have to do some sort of law work in that interim and if anything, I’ll find out for sure if law is what I want to do with my life. I’d like to work in entertainment: either as a lawyer or as an exec and I think a JD/MBA covers all bases.

Look at me, making a long entry longer. --- To sum up, . ::rum roll::: I got a second job! I started last Wednesday. I was off yesterday, but I will be working everyday up until I leave on the 25th. It’s a cool job and I feel like it was a total favor and I feel really lucky to have gotten it. I work in the student ID department, printing up ID cards for all the new students or the unfortunates who lost their old ones. It’s cool. The co-workers are this awesome family and I’m just this temporary border, like some random guest star on their established sit-com. It's cool to see all the new kids coming in, about to start their educations at Cal. I thought one guy was gonna cry he was so excited to get his Berkeley ID. I completely made his day and that was really cool. It took me back to a year ago when I flew up to Berkeley for my orientation - the first time ever visiting Northern California, let alone the campus. Once I got my ID, it was like I can prove it to people! I go to Cal!

Being a newbie to the job, I totally “hooked” a kid up. Your student ID is your student ID and once you take your picture, they usually don’t let you take another even if it’s been years and you don’t’ even resemble yourself. Some kid pulled a Zoolander pose and I let him keep it. He said he was aiming for either Ferrari or La Tigra and I think his folly was aiming for both. I decided it was more La Tigra and he ran outside telling his friends he got La Tigra. Since I’m new, and we were super busy, they didn’t say anything. He better appreciate that. He gets a kitschy Cal ID.
